Team Coast's ban started on 6 March |
The International Cycling Union has announced it has lifted the suspension of Germany's Team Coast. The team, whose riders include former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich, had their licence overturned due to the non-payment of riders' wages.
But on Wednesday, the team said in a statement they had been informed by ruling body UCI the ban imposed on 6 March had been lifted.
They move means Team Coast will be now allowed to start Saturday's Milan-San Remo World Cup race.
Ullrich, who is currently training in Italy, will not enter the event because his six-month doping ban runs until next Monday.
Germany-based Team Coast said it had provided UCI evidence that its riders had been paid.
German Ullrich signed a three-year deal with Team Coast in January after parting company with Team Telekom following a dismal season during which he was sidelined by a knee injury and tested positive for amphetamines.
The 1997 Tour winner has reportedly received offers from other teams since the ban was imposed, but the rider's manager, Wolfgang Strohband, said Ullrich planned to stay with Team Coast.
