Alessio
The Alessio team have enjoyed a sensational season in the sport and could yet have more tricks up their sleeve.

Ivan Gotti during Tour 95
Ivan Gotti wore the yellow jersey back in 1995

They were the number one team in the Giro d'Italia, courtesy of a third place by Pietro Caucchioli in the overall standings, Ivan Gotti in 13th and Franco Pellizotti, who finished 17th.

Cauchioli has since extended his contract with the team.

  Team info
Country: Italy
Team manager: Bruno Cenghialta
Team leaders: Laurent Dufaux, Pietro Caucchioli, Ivan Gotti
Best Tour: Tour debut in 2002

The Giro result saw the team soar up to seventh in the team rankings, an improvement on their Division II-topping status of last season.

The Italian have great strength in depth with former double Giro winner Gotti, one of the old men of the team at 33 and still competitive in the major races.

The 26-year-old Caucchioli and 24-year-old Pellizotti look the bright young talents of the team.

Pellizotti had previously proved his class in the Grand Tours with 20th in La Vuelta last year.

He has also notched up two professional victories this season.

Daniele de Poli offers great back-up in the mountains, while Laurent Dufaux's previous experience can never be discounted.

After having put so much into the Giro it remains to be seen what the team can conjure up in Le Tour.
