Francesco Casagrande
Casagrande: Experienced although a rare Tour starter
Despite approaching his 32nd birthday, Casagrande remains as fresh as ever.

But he also has a reputation for missing out on the major prizes and bad luck.

  Casagrande factfile
DOB: 14.09.1970
Nationality: Italian
Team: Fasso Bortolo
Tour best: 1997 - Sixth overall

His best result to date in one of the major tours was second in the Giro d'Italia.

Is now in his 11th year as a Tour professional and was number one in the world at the end of the 2000 season.
