Marshall was fourth seed for the event in Perth

Alex Marshall became the top seed to fall after the second day of the Scottish International Open following his defeat by John McCullough.

The Irish qualifier beat the fourth-seeded former world champion Scot 8-5 1-10 2-1 at Dewars Centre, Perth.

There was joy for the host nation as Stewart Anderson ousted 12th-seeded Welshman Robert Weale 12-3 10-10.

And top seed Paul Foster won a nail-biting battle against English qualifier Glenn Skipp 5-7 12-5 2-1.

On day one, another top Welshman fell, with fifth seed Jason Greenslade losing to Canadian qualifier Jamie Macgowan 8-7 3-9 2-1.

English qualifier Rob Paxton defeated 14th seed Kelvin Kerkow, of Australia, 6-6 8-6.

However, English seeds Mervyn King, Billy Jackson, Ian Bond and Andy Thomson all progressed.
