Mervyn King has been knocked out of the Scottish International Open bowls by third seed Greg Harlow. Norfolk's King opened the game well, taking the first set of their quarter final 5-4 but then Harlow took an early lead in the second set. King pulled it back to 3-2, but the favourite pushed on taking the set 9-3 before winning the deciding set 2-1. King had produced a stirring comeback on Tuesday to beat Kelvin Kerkow in the second round in Perth. The Australian won the first set 5-4 and was leading 3-1 in the second before King fought back. The former world champion won that second set 9-6 and took the deciding set 2-1 against his pairs partner.
