| Alex Marshall saw his hopes of a record fourth title crumble for another year when he crashed out of the World Indoor Bowls championships in Norfolk. The 38-year-old Scot, the fourth seed, was trounced 11-1 9-1 by England's unseeded Mervyn King in the last 16. King, from Norfolk, was the one who rose to the occasion in front of his home fans in Great Yarmouth.
