A thrilling last-gasp win over MK Lions on Sunday ensured Leicester Riders enjoyed back-to-back victories in the BBL Trophy at the weekend. JR Blount scored with four seconds remaining, as Riders fought back to triumph 88-87 and secure the points away to the Lions. On Saturday, Riders secured a second consecutive victory over Essex Pirates. An 11-2 burst in the second period saw the Riders lead 42-29 and the visitors held on for a 98-70 victory. But in a much tighter affair against the Lions on Sunday, Riders had been 10 points down heading into the last three minutes. Former Lion Tony Windless made consecutive scores for Leicester and they finished with the last five points of the game to snatch the victory. Anthony Simpson led the Riders with 23 points, while Blount added 21. Travis Nelson led the Lions with 22 points.
