Deng re-signed for the Bulls last summer in a deal worth $71m |
Great Britain star Luol Deng is battling to save his season with the Chicago Bulls after a stress fracture in his right leg failed to heal. The Brixton-raised small forward has been sidelined for the last two weeks after a visit to a Miami specialist. Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro said: "It could be the end of his season. We just don't know how it's going to react." "We don't want him to come back and really seriously injure himself. He's still got discomfort and pain." Del Negro added: "It's a stress fracture. Until that heals - and that takes time - we'll be smart about it. Luol wants to be out there as much as anybody. But injuries happen and this one is tough." Deng has missed the last 11 Bulls games and Chicago are struggling to hold on to their play-off place in his absence.
