Vidmantis Uzkuraitis scored all 21 of his points from long-range shots |
Worcester Wolves lost their fourth BBL match in succession after being outplayed by Guildford Heat 89-103. Wolves could not maintain a promising start of nine unanswered points and were two behind by half-time. Anthony Paez struggled to make an impact on the game in open play but Will Funn and Vidmantis Uzkuraitis each scored 21 points. The Wolves also ended the game strongly but it was too late and the defeat leaves them without a win in December. Worcester led 16-3 after only four minutes but Guildford Heat coach Paul James called a time out to regroup his squad and it paid off as Heat clawed their way back to 27-18 by the end of the first period. Wolves started the second quarter poorly and only managed to net seven points in the first five minutes, while Heat continued to pile on the pressure with Ej Harrison and Ketona Howell both scoring highly for the visitors. There was still all to play for in the final quarter but the Wolves conceded two needless turnovers and Guildford capitalised on the errors. The Wolves then scored nine of the last 13 points but were unable to turn the game around and succumbed to their fourth defeat in a month.
