Player-coach Sterling Davis said George is a raw, impressive talent

Scottish Rocks have added their first new face to their 2008/09 squad with the signing of high-flying forward Randy George from Sheffield.

The 6'7" native of the British Virgin Islands averaged seven points and 5.3 rebounds for the Sharks last season.

Rocks player-coach Sterling Davis feels he has landed a hidden gem in George.

"Randy is a guy who I've been impressed with from the first time I saw him," said Davis.

George will arrive in Glasgow around 1 September to begin preparations for the Rocks' first season at the Kelvin Hall.

"He has a raw talent for the game and great athleticism and agility for his size," added Davis.

"I think he has so much more to show that maybe didn't come out last year."
