Interview: Newcastle Eagles forward Lynard Stewart

Newcastle Eagles forward Lynard Stewart has targeted a play-off win to go with his personal rewards from this season's British Basketball League campaign.

"The Players' Player of the Year award was more special coming from the guys and looks real good too," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.

"I've been collecting medals all my career and as I get older I start to look back on what I've done.

"I definitely want to come out with a piece of silverware this weekend."

You know there's going to be nicks and elbows

Eagles face long-time rivals Milton Keynes in the final and, having enjoyed several high-profile matches with the Bedfordshire side this season, Stewart knows what to expect from Saturday's game.

"They've always been physical. They've got Shawn Jamison down there who is the big guy in the league.

"Every time we play them you know there's going to be nicks and elbows and get pushed and it is going to be a physical game."
