 Drew Lasker top scored in both the Raiders' weekend wins |
Plymouth Raiders are just two points off BBL leaders Newcastle Eagles after two good weekend victories. Drew Lasker hit 19 points and Anthony Martin and DeAntoine Beasley both scored 13 in Saturday's 92-83 win over Birmingham Panthers.
Lasker then hit another 19 points in Sunday's 93-84 away win over Cheshire Jets, jointly top scoring this time with Gaylon Moore and Terrence Durham.
The Raiders are now second in the BBL, two points off leaders Newcastle.
But Newcastle have played three fewer matches than the Raiders, as have third-placed Guildford Heat who are two points behind Plymouth.
The matches end a run of seven games in 15 days for the Raiders, who have won six of them.
Saturday's defeat for Birmingham Panthers sees them drop to the foot of the BBL Championship. They will be the Raiders' next opponents as they visit the Pavilions on Saturday 1 March.
