Big weekend for Worcester Wolves

Worcester Wolves head for Sheffield Sharks on Friday in a key BBL game that neither side can afford to lose.

Victory for Sharks would seal the head-to-head BBL Championship series between the sides.

Sharks have already beaten Worcester 96-86 at the EIS, but Wolves gained revenge in the BBL Trophy, 125-121.

Sharks coach Pete Scantlebury knows the importance of the game. "If we win, it will give us a cushion," he said. "But if we lose they will be back in it."

Wolves then take on Cheshire Jets at home on Saturday.

They gave us a good beating last time, and we need to even that up

Jets coach Paul Smith

Both teams go into the weekend with seven BBL Championship victories to their name this season. But Jets occupy eighth place as they have achieved that in fewer games than the Wolves.

With only two wins separating the teams in seventh to 11th places, Jets coach Paul Smith knows it is a vital game for both sides.

"We're both down there fighting for the last couple of play-off spots," he said. "And we need to win to keep our chances up.

"They gave us a good beating last time, and we need to even that up.

"Anthony Paez and James Life are good offensive players, and we need to stop them."
