Mick Donovan believes there is more to come from the Wolves |
Worcester Wolves face a stern test in the BBL Trophy semi-finals after being drawn against Guildford Heat in the last four. It is the first time the Wolves have reached this stage of any BBL competition and they will need to beat the Heat for the first time too.
The Worcester men have already lost 89-108 to Guildford in this campaign.
Wolves booked their place in the last four with a tense 84-81 home win over Sheffield Sharks.
They raced out to an 8-0 lead at the start of the match and they kept themselves well in control with a 12-0 burst, including two threes by James Life, to close the first quarter 33-14 up.
By half time Worcester looked in control at 54-37 with Life scoring 25 of his game-high 29-points.

Neither team managed to score in the first two minutes of the final stanza before Sharks got within striking distance of Wolves at 77-73 and 81-78. With Whyte fouled out an 83-80, James Life made one of two free throws to seal the win for Worcester.
Wolves head of operations Mick Donovan says it was a great night for the team:
"To have played Sheffield two or three years ago would have given us a big thrill, let alone beating them.
"We are going well and the exciting thing is the team still has more to offer, and I think we can improve even more.
"It was end to end, thrilling stuff, but our point guard Chuck Evans really stepped up in the last few minutes."
In the other semi-final Newcastle Eagles will take on the winners of group one, to be settled next weekend.
The winners could be known on Saturday, as the MK Lions travel to the Leicester Riders in search of a victory that will send them through regardless of what happens elsewhere.
