Garnett spent 12 seasons with the T-Wolves |
US sport's biggest trade of the summer has seen NBA superstar Kevin Garnett join the Boston Celtics from Minnesota. Garnett is one of just five players in league history to amass 19,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 4,000 assists, but he has yet to win an NBA championship.
Boston are sending five players plus two draft picks to the Timberwolves in return for the 6ft 11in power forward who, at 31, is a 12-time NBA All-Star.
The Celtics have won 16 NBA titles but none since the 1985-86 season.
Garnett, will line up with star forward Paul Pierce and another big new signing, guard Ray Allen, as Boston attempt to revive their fortunes.
They finished with the second-worst record in the NBA last season (24-58).
Garnett will get the chance to meet his old team-mates again on 10 October when his new side plays the Timberwolves at London's O2 Arena in a pre-season game.
