| Guildford Heat moved to the top of the British Basketball League Championship with a comfortable 85-66 victory over Newcastle Eagles on Friday night. Dan Wardrope scored 16 points as the Heat took a firm grip in the third quarter despite 19 points from Eagles coach Fabulous Flournoy. In the BBL Trophy, Sheffield Sharks came from behind to complete a 93-88 overtime win against Chester Jets. Blake Shelton scored the key first four points in the extra period.
