The Colorado Rockies are into their first World Series after a 4-0 sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks secured the the National League crown. A six-run fourth inning, sparked Matt Holliday's three-run homer, sealed a 6-4 victory in Denver for the Rockies, who only joined the NL West in 1993.
It was their 21st win in their last 22 games, and sets up a Fall Classic against either Boston or Cleveland.
The Indians currently lead the American League Championship Series 2-1.
The Colorado bullpen survived an eighth-inning stumble by Brian Fuentes, who gave up a three-run homer to Chris Snyder.
Thye clinched their first NL title when shortstop Troy Tulowitzki scooped a grounder out of the dirt and fired to first base to get Arizona batter Eric Byrnes out.
The Rockies join the 1976 Cincinnati Reds as the only clubs in NL history to start the play-offs with seven straight wins.
"It was fun, this has been a great ride. We're not done yet," said Rockies first baseman Todd Helton. "We're going to keep it going."
