Grimsley is not expected to return to Major League action |
Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jason Grimsley has been suspended for 50 games after admitting taking performance-enhancing drugs. Grimsley, 38, was released by the Diamondbacks last Wednesday after federal agents raided his home.
Major League Baseball banned him under its new steroid policy, making the right-hander the first major leaguer to be banned without failing a drug test.
The ban starts when he returns to a Major League 40-man roster.
But his agent does not expect him to play again, although he will challenge Arizona's decision to withhold the rest of his $825,000 salary.
