Massive ban for pitcher Grimsley
Jason Grimsley
Grimsley is not expected to return to Major League action
Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Jason Grimsley has been suspended for 50 games after admitting taking performance-enhancing drugs.

Grimsley, 38, was released by the Diamondbacks last Wednesday after federal agents raided his home.

Major League Baseball banned him under its new steroid policy, making the right-hander the first major leaguer to be banned without failing a drug test.

The ban starts when he returns to a Major League 40-man roster.

But his agent does not expect him to play again, although he will challenge Arizona's decision to withhold the rest of his $825,000 salary.
