Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms blew three match points as they lost the Singapore Open mixed doubles final to Nova Widianto and Lilyana Natsir. The English duo, who reached the final without dropping a game, saved a match point in the second game of the contest against Indonesia's world champions.
But they then lost three match points in the third to slip to a 21-16 20-22 23-21 after 67 dramatic minutes.
Denmark's Peter Gade and France's Pi Hongyan won the singles titles.
Gade beat fellow Dane Kenneth Jonassen 21-10 21-14 to win the men's title and Hongyan edged out Dutch ace Mia Audina 22-20 22-20 in the women's event.
Flandy Limpele and Sigit Budiarto of Indonesia, who beat Britain's Robert Blair and Anthony Clark in the semi-finals, took the men's doubles.
They beat Denmark's Thomas Laybourn and Lars Paaske 21-8 21-16.
Wei Yang and Zhang Jiewen won the women's doubles title in an all-Chinese final with Zhang Dan and Zhao Tingting 21-18 21-18.
