Sharks players are on offer to help the community around Newquay |
Cornish Sharks' head coach Brian Smallworth hopes to boost the club's profile in local area by offering his players as community helpers. Smallworth says his "strong men" are available to assist projects in the Newquay area.
"The Sharks are very active locally through the Sharks in the Community Programme," he said.
"Players are only too pleased to give something back to the community that supports them whenever they can."
The Sharks, who ran the Sport Relief Mile in full american football kit on Sunday, are in training for the start of the 2008 BAFL season.
And the club is looking for local people to contribute to the re-launch of its website.
"Having been involved in American Football in the UK since its inception in the early 1980s, I have a wealth of old photographs and documents that we will be posting up on the site in the coming days and weeks in order to build a pictorial history of the game in the UK.
"We would be delighted to hear from anyone that would like to add any of their photos to our image library to illustrate the history of the game in the UK," Smallworth said.
