Maroney scored New England's second touchdown |
New England and Green Bay are both one game away from the Super Bowl after winning their divisional play-offs. The Patriots maintained the momentum of their unbeaten season by defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-20 at Foxboro.
Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 26 of 28 pass attempts - his 92.9% a record for regular-season and play-off games.
The Packers reached the NFC title decider for the first time since 1997 with a 42-20 comeback win over Seattle in blizzard conditions in Wisconsin.
New England will play either San Diego or Indianapolis, while Green Bay will face Dallas or the New York Giants.
The Patriots went behind when Matt Jones caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Jaguars quarterback David Garrard in the 11th minute.
Scores from Benjamin Watson and Laurence Maroney put the Pats in front before a superb catch by Ernest Wilford on a six-yard pass by Garrard finished off a 95-yard drive to level matters at 14-14.
But New England took stepped up a gear, with Brady picking out Wes Welker and then Watson again in the third quarter.
Conditions at Lambeau Field were treacherous |
The Jaguars could only reply with two field goals in the second half.
Green Bay overcame a poor start to rally past Seattle in heavy snow, with quarterback Brett Favre and running back Ryan Grant leading the way.
The Pack fell 14-0 behind on two early touchdowns after a pair of fumbles by Grant.
He began to make amends with a four-yard run in a drive that led to Favre's pass to Greg Jennings for a TD.
Grant himself went over from a yard out after making three impressive surges on the Packers' next drive for 14-14.
He added his second touchdown to give the hosts the lead at half-time when he went over from the three-yard line.
With the snow reducing visibility at Lambeau Field and making it tricky for players to keep their feet, the Packers took control.
Brandon Jackson took a 13-yard pass from Favre in the third quarter, with a Josh Brown field goal all that the Seahawks could manage.

Grant wrapped the game up in the fourth with a one-yard run at the end of a seven-play drive. He finished with 201 yards - more than Seattle as a team.
Favre, who has hinted he will play on for another season, added to his lengthy list of records when he became just the second quarterback to throw for 5,000 yards in the play-offs behind NFL icon Joe Montana.
The 38-year-old said he relished the challenging conditions.
"I've been waiting for that for 17 years, a game where you couldn't see the field, and it was awesome - it was the most snow I've every played in."
The AFC and NFC Championship games take place next weekend, with the Super Bowl in Phoenix on Sunday, 3 February.
