The former Olympic Games gold medallist has announced that he will bring the curtain on his illustrious career at the World Track Championships in October. And the 32-year-old star, who won the pursuit title in Barcelona, wants to mark his retirement by breaking the world one-hour record. Boardman, who missed this year's Tour de France because of injury, will use a conventionial bike in the bid at Manchester. He originally broke the record with a distance of 56.375km on a machine which is now outlawed.
