Derby swimmer Emma Smithurst has taken a silver medal at the FINA World Cup in Stockholm this week. The 17-year-old, who swims for the Derventio club in the city, smashed her own best time by five seconds in the 400m individual medley. Katheryn Meaklim of South Africa won gold in four minutes and 27.21 seconds. Britain's Daniel Fogg and Sasha Matthews both took bronze medals, in the men's 1500m freestyle and women's 400m freestyle respectively.
