 Surfing in St Ouen's bay |
Scott Eastwood has won the Deloitte Channel Island Surfing Championships in perfect conditions in St Ouen's Bay. The finals finished late Sunday evening in the best conditions of the summer. Dave Ferguson the event organiser was impressed with the talent: "Brilliant weekend, superb conditions and there's been a high quality standard of surfing from everyone involved." Along with his open title, Scott Eastwood won the senior men's title with Matt Chapman winning best junior. In the masters it was an exceptional performance by Nigel Wray who beat current European Champion Clayton Lister in a high quality final. Lucy Goddard, 15, came first in the senior women's event and then backed up her win with another in the junior girls. Joe Davies, the former junior British champion won the long-boards. The Channel Island's best juniors now travel to Newquay next weekend to compete in the British Junior Championships.
