Devon's Olympic bronze medallist Mary King has said she was happy with the way she rode after finishing third and fourth at the Burleigh Horse trials.

King, 47, rode Imperial Cavalier, her reserve horse for Beijing, into third place with Apache Sauce coming fourth.

"It's really fantastic, both horses have done their best in all the phases," she told BBC Radio Devon.

"I felt I let Imperial Cavalier down a little bit in the show jumping, I rode a fence badly and he had it down."

King added: "At the end of the day they have both gone really well and have come home safe and sound and have lots of future ahead of them."

William Fox-Pitt took the top two spots at the weekend aboard Tamarillo and Ballincoola.
