Archery duo guarantee GB silver

Simon Terry and Alan Wills will meet in the men's recurve semi-finals of the World Cup archery event in Dover.

The British pair last faced each other for the bronze medal at last month's World Championships in Leipzig, with Wills gaining a narrow victory.

The other semi-final pairs in-form Russian Baljinima Tsyrempilov against Juan Renne Serrano of Mexico.

It was not such a good day for the GB ladies recurve team - not one of them made it past the second round.

Despite that setback, Team GB performance director Barry Eley said he was delighted by the progress of Terry and Wills.

"It would have been nice for them to meet in the final, but we're all delighted that two British competitors have made it through to the final four," he said. "May the best man win."

At the end of the Dover tournament - the fourth and final qualifying leg of the FITA World Cup - the top four archers in the four divisions go through to the World Cup Grand Final.

This year's finale takes place in Dubai in November.
