Britain's taekwondo team finished third overall at the Dutch Open after securing a six-medal haul in Eindhoven. Tyrone Robinson took men's -54kg gold, beating compatriot Romaine Bailey, who settled for silver. Sarah Stevenson won the title in the -72kg category. In his first senior GB event, Aaron Cooke took a surprise bronze in the men's -72kg competition. Daryl Stokes, 16, making in his junior GB debut, took -78kg gold, and Bianca Walkden won junior +68kg bronze. The 14-strong British team joined more than 1,300 competitors from 40 nations took part in the event. Winners France and second-placed Turkey both fielded teams of more than 40 players. Richard Allen of the GB coaching staff said: "The development since the beginning of our Elite Academy has been astounding." The 2007 World Taekwondo Qualification Tournament for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games takes place in Manchester from 28-30 September.
