Russia are the women's world volleyball champions after becoming the first team in over 18 months to beat Brazil. The Russians outlasted the South Americans in a final-set tie-break to take gold in Japan.
The 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 15-13 victory ended Brazil's hopes of taking a first world title.
It is the first time Russia have won the event, although the Soviet Union had previously dominated the sport, winning five times.
The final was the 104th match of the championship which has attracted over a quarter of a million spectators.
The men's tournament is also in Japan and will run from 17 November until 3 December.
