Tweddle missed this year's Commonwealth Games with injury

Uneven bars world champion Tweddle followed up her landmark win in Denmark last month with victory at Kelvin Hall.

Commonwealth champion Smith took the honours in the pommel horse competition with team-mate Daniel Keatings fourth.

David Eaton also won bronze for Britain in the high bar behind Frenchman Yann Cucherat - who also won the parallel bars - and Dutchman Epke Zonderland.

Tweddle, Britain's first-ever world champion, opened the uneven bars competition with a performance of confident panache, for which she scored 16.025.

Her display was enough to claim gold ahead of the highly-rated 17-year-old Dariya Zgoba of Ukraine.

"I hit my heels on my first movement but came out OK in the end so I'm delighted," said Tweddle, who came seventh in the floor event.

Britain's Lynette Lisle was seventh in both the uneven bars and the beam while Imogen Cairns was fifth in the vault on her comeback from injury.

Smith won the men's pommel horse with an impressive 15.375 while Keatings blew his medal chances with a fall mid-spindle.

"I had some problems in qualifying but I'm a high-riser and raise my game in competitions so was always confident," said Smith.

Eaton was the final competitor in the high bar and could have snatched gold but for a fumbled hand change and short squat out.

Britain's Sam Hunter just missed out on the medals, coming fourth in the men's floor.
