It is Fallon's first Championships since winning silver in 2003 |
Craig Fallon will be hoping to win a title for Britain in next month's judo European Championships in Finland. Fallon, who won the -60kg world title in September last year, is included in an experienced line-up for the event in Tampere from May 26 to 28.
Aldershot's four-time European champion Karina Bryant will be hoping to retain her +78kg crown.
Scottish duo Euan Burton and Sarah Clark will be aiming for success in the -81kg and -63kg categories.
Winston Gordon, who finished fifth in the last Olympics, is aiming for his first Championship medal in the -90kg category while Michelle Rogers is appearing in her first Championships for five years after winning medals at three in a row between 1996 and 2001.
No selections have been made in the -48kg, -57kg or +100kg categories.
British Judo High Performance Director Colin McIver said: "We have been able to select our number one player in each weight category but they still face the ever strong European competition for medals.
"Europe is no doubt the most difficult continent to qualify from for the Olympics Games, with so many quality players chasing few qualification spots.
"These Championships will give us an indication of the task ahead as we move towards the qualification events next year on the road to the Beijing Olympics."
