Elite League runners-up Belfast Giants crashed out of the play-offs after losing 3-0 at Cardiff. The Devils moved clear at the top of Group B thanks to two goals from Vezio Sacratini and one from Jon Cullen.
Nottingham came from behind to beat London 4-2 in Group A and now look certain to progress with Coventry.
Denis Ladoceur and Mark Gouett scored for London but Panther replied through Nick Boynton, Matt Myers, Mikhail Nemirovsky and Konstantin Kalmikov.
