Hemmings has battled back from long-term illness | British canoeist Anna Hemmings has won the K1 women's senior event at the ICF Marathon World Championships in Perth, Australia, for the third time. The win caps a remarkable comeback by Hemmings, who has had to overcome chronic fatigue syndrome. The 28-year-old, who was told two years ago she might not compete again, said: "It's fantastic - I can't describe what it means to me to win. "After two tough years, winning is even more special than the others."
