International Olympic Committee chief Jacques Rogge praised Beijing's preparations for the 2008 Olympics after a tour of the city on Monday.

"We support the (organising) committee and we are happy. We have no concerns whatsoever," said Rogge.

By 2008, Beijing expects to have spent $37 billion for the Games, including $2 billion on venues.

IOC officials had earlier worried that construction was going ahead too fast but plans are now back on schedule.

Rogge said that a report from Hein Verbruggen, the chairman of the IOC's co-ordination commission, indicated that Beijing's preparations were going to plan.

"I have no concerns. The chairman of the co-ordination commission has no concerns," said Rogge.

"He is sleeping extremely well and I am sleeping extremely well."
