Great Britain's women's hockey team saw their hopes of reaching the final of the Athens International tournament disappear as they drew 2-2 with Spain. Giffnock and Scotland striker Rhona Simpson opened the scoring for Tricia Heberle's side in the second minute.
Monica Rueda converted a penalty corner for Spain 10 minutes after half-time before Linda Clement restored the lead.
But Nuria Camon struck the equaliser 13 minutes from time to deny Britain a place in Sunday's final.
Heberle, who rested a number of senior players, had always stressed that the event was more about finalising her squad for next month's Olympic qualifier in Auckland.
But she was disappointed with the manner in which her side twice squandered a lead.
"We did not capitalise on our good start," said Heberle.
"Soft defending and a lack of outcomes in the second half after good build-ups handed Spain a point on a plate."
