Downhill switched again
Stephan Eberharter
Eberharter will be hoping the weather improves
High winds and heavy snowfall has caused the postponement of Friday's World Cup downhill on Wengen's famous Lauberhorn piste.

The race, which had already been moved from Bormio and then Chamonix, will now take place at Kitzbuhel next Thursday.

Wengen is due to host its own classic downhill on Saturday as well as a slalom on Sunday.

Organisers said they will do everything they can to ensure training goes ahead as planned on Friday.

"We will have machines working all night and there will be 120 people on the slope working to prepare it. If we get a chance to run then we will take it," a spokesman said.

Kitzbuhel will now stage four races on consecutive days.

The rescheduled downhill on Thursday, 22 January, will be followed by a super-G on the Friday, another downhill on the Saturday and a slalom on the Sunday.
