Olympic gold medallist Russell Garcia has been recalled to the British hockey squad for a training camp. Great Britain's most-capped player retired from international sport after being left out of the Sydney Olympics.
But Garcia, whose reputation was soiled by a three-month ban for cocaine use in 1999, has the opportunity to return to the fold ahead of Athens 2004.
He is one of three additions to the original 25-man training squad, which will meet up at Havant on 21 January.
"There is already a great deal of ability within the squad, although I am prepared to investigate every option," said England assistant coach Jason Lee.
"Hence my inclusion of Jonty Clarke, Rob Moore and Russell Garcia - all of whom have been carefully monitored over the last four months and have now been invited to this camp for formal ongoing assessment."
