British bob skeleton slider Kristan Bromley claimed his second successive World Cup win with victory at Lake Placid, New York.

Bromley followed up his win in the opening round in Calgary on Thursday by edging Olympic champion Jimmy Shea.

The 31-year-old beat his American rival by 0.38 seconds, with defending World Cup champion Chris Soule in third.

"I came into this season hoping for a top five in Calgary and a top 10 here," said Bromley.

"But after winning both, I'm in a good position for the rest of the season, especially leading to the world championships."

It was only his third win in a World Cup event, and came four years after his first victory in Calgary.

Bromley, who works as a research officer at the University of Bath and designed his own sled, leads the overall standings.
