Serbia and Montenegro overcame Turkey 80-76 to reach the European Basketball Championship quarter-finals. With Peta Stojakovic injured early on, the defending champions were grateful for 18 points from LA Clippers guard Marko Jaric.
Serbia and Montenegro will play Lithuania on Wednesday in Stockholm's Globe Arena for a place in the final four.
Stojakovic, one of the NBA's best three-point shooters, hurt an ankle when he lost his balance and fell late in the first quarter.
The Sacramento star, who scored 10 points, spent the rest of the game on the bench with his left ankle packed in ice.
Milan Gurovic added 16 points for Serbia and Montenegro, while Predrag Drobnjak of Seattle notched 12. Mehmet Okur of the Detroit Pistons led Turkey with 20.
Russia also made the last eight, beating Croatia 81-77, with 29 points from Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko. They now face France, also on Wednesday.
Veteran guard Vassili Karassov sank six free throws during the last 85 second as the Russians came from behind.
In other elimination games, Israel edged Slovenia 78-76 at Lulea and Italy edged Germany 86-84 at Norrkoping.
Next up for Israel is Spain, one of the favourites, on Thursday at the Globe. Italy take on Greece in the last quarter-final in the Swedish capital.
