Steelers shut out Knights
Superleague leaders Sheffield Steelers beat London Knights 2-0 at Docklands on Thursday in a dress rehearsal for their Challenge Cup semi-final clash next Sunday.

Joel Laing
Laing had his fourth shutout of the season

The win brought London's longest unbeaten run of the season to an end after four games.

Mark Dutiaume tipped the puck in on the powerplay after five and a half minutes for his sixth goal of the season.

Steelers made the man advantage count again in the second period. Rick Brebant beat goalie Dave Trofimenkoff after 34 minutes.

Sheffield netminder Joel Laing turned aside 28 shots for his fourth shut out of the campaign.

Injury-hit Belfast Giants came from 2-0 down to hold Bracknell Bees to a 3-3 draw at Amen Corner.

Bracknell took control early on with Dan Ceman and Scott Kirton scoring inside 12 minutes.

Dave Matsos began Belfast's comeback with 16 seconds left in the first period. Doug MacDonald picked up a pass from Colin Ward to tie up the game at 27:09.

With two seconds remaining in the second period, David Struch poked the puck past an out of position Colin Ryder to put Bracknell back in front.

Curt Bowen equalised at 49:29. Four minutes later Giants thought they had scored the game-winner, but referee Simon Kirkham disallowed the goal.

Neither side managed to break through in overtime, sharing the spoils of a point each.
