![]() | Sunday, 17 June, 2001, 16:00 GMT 17:00 UK Moreau crowned in Dauphine ![]() France's Christophe Moreau of the Festina team has won the Dauphine Libere cycling race by a slim one-second margin. German Jens Voigt of the Credit Agricole team won Sunday's seventh and final stage. Moreau, fourth in last year's Tour de France, came in ahead of Russian Pavel Tonkov in the overall standings in a tough race which saw five leaders. The Frenchman took the overall leader's blue and yellow jersey on Friday from Britain's David Millar. Previous leaders were French riders Didier Rous and Laurent Roux and Belgian Axel Merckx. Leading placings in the seventh stage of the Dauphine Libere cycle race over 193 km from Chamb�ry on Sunday: 1 Jens Voigt (Ger) Credit Agricole two hours 57 minutes and 36 seconds Overall standings: 1 Christophe Moreau (Fra) Festina 28 hours 24 minutes and 10 seconds |
