Millar wins Tour of the Sarthe
David Millar in action during last years Tour de France
It's Millar time, David finished 31 seconds clear
Britain's David Millar has won the Tour of the Sarthe in France with a final stage victory on Friday.

Riding for the Cofidis team, the Scotsman wrapped up the win by coming first in the 185km fifth stage between Angers and La Fleche.

Millar, whose last win was in the prologue to the Tour de France last year, romped home 31 seconds clear of Frenchman Anthony Morin who finished second.

Millar said afterwards: "I have waited for a long time to win something other than a time trial."

Elsewhere Lithuania's Raimondas Rumsas won the tour of the Basque country in Spain after a powerful finish.

The Fassa Bortolo rider saved his energy for the final stretch and his tactics paid dividends.

He climbed up through the field and finished five seconds clear of local hope Alberto Martinez.
