British lifters unveiled
Michaela Breeze
Breeze was cruelly denied a place at Sydney 2000
The British Olympic Association (BOA) has confirmed its weightlifting team for the Athens Games.

Wales' Michaela Breeze will compete in the 58kg clean and jerk and snatch while Kamran Panjavi takes part in the 62kg men's event.

"We are very happy that two of our athletes have qualified for this year's Olympics," said Steve Cannon, team leader for weightlifting in Athens.

"We hope that these talented athletes can return with personal bests."

The ranking system administered the unkindest of cuts on Breeze before the 2000 Sydney Olympics when the top 15 ranked lifters qualified outright.

At the cut-off stage, the Welsh woman was joint 15th but she missed out on body weight.
