Agustin Calleri has followed fellow Argentine David Nalbandian in pulling out of the Olympic tennis tournament. Calleri withdrew from his match against Igor Andreev with an abdominal strain, making the Russian the first player to reach the men's singles third round.
He had already abandoned his spot in the doubles when partner and singles sixth seed Nalbandian withdrew with a left thigh strain.
Guillermo Coria and Gaston Gaudio never made it to Athens, citing injuries.
Andreev now faces either 10th seed Nicolas Massu of Chile or Vince Spadea of the United States.
