Russia's Olga Slyusareva won gold in the women's cycling points race to underline her dominance of the event. The 35-year-old, winner of the last four world championships and a bronze medallist in Sydney four years ago, added to her bronze in the road race.
She won the 100-lap event by six points from Mexico's Belem Guerrero Mendez, with Maria Luisa Calle Williams of Columbia in bronze.
Britain's Emma Davies performed well to finish 12th with four points.
"I am really happy with that," said Davies. "I did a personal best in the pursuit which was a huge step forward, and so was this.
"I rode really aggressively and tried my socks off, and I think I put in a creditable performance.
"It is just unfortunate I didn't pick up more points."
The silver for Guerrero Mendez was Mexico's first track cycling medal since 1984, while the bronze for Williams was Colombia's first medal in Olympic track cycling history.
New Zealand's Sarah Ulmer, who won the individual pursuit on Sunday, finished sixth.
