Sonia O'Sullivan was an Olympic silver medallist in Sydney |
Sonia O'Sullivan will not run on the track again this season and may opt to retire after her performance in the 5000 metres in Athens. O'Sullivan trailed home last in Monday's final.
"I don't know, but retirement is one of the options in the hat, although I haven't spoken to anyone about it yet," said the 34-year-old.
The Olympic silver medallist was affected by an upset stomach in the build-up to Monday's race.
"I still don't feel good even now," said O'Sullivan on Wednesday night.
A road-racing future might be another of the options which O'Sullivan is considering, but she added: "I just don't know, I've no plans at the moment.
"I've really nothing, only zero plans at the moment.
"I won't be running on the track again this season."
