Goodison will hope to emulate Sydney gold medallist Ben Ainslie |
Paul Goodison has been revealed as the 18th and final member of Britain's sailing squad for the Olympics. The 26-year-old from Sheffield clinched the place in the Laser class at the Olympic trials in Weymouth.
Simon Clegg, chef de Mission for Team GB Athens 2004, said: "His performance this week gives us great hope for him in Athens."
Goodison will be hoping to repeat Ben Ainslie's gold medal success in Sydney in the class.
Ainslie has moved to the Finn class for Athens and is joined by fellow Sydney gold medallists Iain Percy and Shirley Robertson in the British team.
And Jonathan Glanfield and Nick Rogers will hope for better luck after missing out on a bronze medal by a single point four years ago.
