The Bankras sports centre in Amstelveen, a poor suburb of Amsterdam, is home to the Great Britain men's volleyball team

The team plays in the Dutch Pro A League as Martinus after taking over the financially stricken club for a season

The players live in Holland and the aim is for them to be strong enough to compete at the London Olympics in 2012

Hope has recently arrived in the form of Mark Plotyczer, a Brazilian international, who qualifies through his English father

And the players are keen to put in the hours on and off the court to make their Olympic dreams become a reality

The living room for team GB

However, their living accommodation highlights the lack of funding with six of the team living in a converted office block

The fridge may be full of healthy food, but the kitchen is poorly equipped for the potential Olympic athletes

However, the squad is warming up nicely for London 2012, recording its first win over Bol Networks/Lycurgus in December
