Video - Son takes 68kg taekwondo gold South Korea struck double gold in the taekwondo on Thursday as Son Tae-Jin won the men's -68kg category and Lim Su-Jeong took the women's -57kg title. Son beat 2005 world champion Mark Lopez of the United States in his final, snatching a 3-2 victory with a winning kick only three seconds before time. Lim was a more comfortable winner in her fight against Turkey's Azize Tanrikulu, despite a 1-0 scoreline. The 22-year-old scored twice but had one point deducted for passivity. That was in the opening round when both fighters started slowly and put Lim behind. But she levelled the score with a kick to the body in the second and landed a back kick to the Turk in the third to win her first major international title. Son was also without any major international success heading into the final but began well an led 2-0 after the first round. However, he was docked a point in the second and Lopez scored with a side kick to level things up at 1-1. The pair then exchanged kicks to make it 2-2 but Son landed the winning kick as time was running out. In the men's competition Taiwan's Sung Yu-chi and Servet Tazegul of Turkey won the bronze medals. American Diana Lopez and Martina Zubcic of Croatia won bronze in the women's category.
