China justified their favourites tag in the men's and women's categories of the team table tennis at the Olympics. The men had a few anxious moments but won 3-0 in their best-of-five match against Greece on the first day. "There was some pressure," said men's world number one Wang Hao. "We're on the home court so everyone wants us to get a good result." The women looked more assured as they overcame Dominican Republic and Croatia by 3-0 in both matches. "I don't differentiate between strong and weak opponents. I play each game like it's a final," said Zhang Yining, who won gold in singles and doubles in Athens. "If you're not prepared and ready for a challenge you'll find yourself in a bad situation."
