Video - Soni's swim smashes record American Rebecca Soni caused a major upset by beating Australian Leisel Jones and breaking the world record on her way to 200m breaststroke gold. Soni clocked 2mins 20.22secs, with Jones taking silver and Norway's Sara Nordenstam grabbing the bronze. The victory came after Soni had surprised everyone by finishing runner-up to Jones in the 100m breaststroke. "It's been a long road to get here, and I really can't believe that just happened," said Soni. Jones admitted she had run out of steam in the closing stages. "I really couldn't breathe that last 50," she said. "I was just digging deep and couldn't breathe. "A silver medal is still a silver medal in the Olympics. I gave it everything, I couldn't have given more."
